Island of Places Series - San Juan Islands Art Print / White on Navy (Unframed)
The San Juan Islands are magical in so many ways. This is the monochrome version of this design, part of my new "Island of Places" series. White lettering on a sea of Puget Sound navy blue. It's an original piece that's ready to frame, and the artwork is professionally printed on archival heavyweight paper.

This artwork is the culmination of many hours of research and detail-oriented design work. I combed through a number of current and historical maps and reflected on many of my own visits to the islands while working on this project. Having been fortunate enough to call Fidalgo Island (also known as "the gateway to the San Juans") home for over a decade, I've done a lot of in-person research of the islands over the years, hiking, paddling, biking, boating, and exploring on and around the San Juan Islands.
To create this artwork, I used maps to pencil out the coast lines of the islands, and then I marked out the primary features (lakes, topography, etc.). I scanned and imported that drawing into my digital sketchpad and used it as the base layer above which I began digitally sketching, arranging, and coloring the lettering for each element. Referencing various maps and my own notes and experiences, I strove to include as many natural features, parks, neighborhoods, and landmarks as I could into the final design. Once I was happy with the overall design, I removed that base layer sketch to reveal the clean lettering-only design.
As with all my work, this art print is completely unique and original, dreamed up and designed entirely by me. You won't find a San Juan Islands design like this from anyone else!
This print is available in the following sizes:
16x20 - 18x24 - 24x36
*Because of the intricacies of the design, and in striving to make everything readable (you might find your readers helpful!), this artwork is too detailed to be printed smaller than 16x20. I do have smaller individual prints available for each of the larger San Juan Islands (Orcas, San Juan, and Lopez).
Depending on the size you choose, and the inventory I have on hand, the print may be shipped directly from the printer (a process called drop-shipping), so that it arrives to you faster. The printer is located in the U.S.
All prints will be rolled, wrapped in tissue, and shipped in a rigid tube (except for 8x10s, which may be shipped in a flat rigid mailer).
* Please note - prints will ship in 3-5 business days, and may ship separately from other items in your order.
